My friends think I talk about my truck too much so this is a perfect place for me to post about it and what I'm doing/ plan to do.
I'm 22, I used to have a 98 dodge durango that I bought for dirt cheap because at the time there were slim pickings here for Chevy trucks that weren't covered in rust or only 2wd. I wanted a 4x4. I had fun with it and really just bombed the **** out of it every chance I could cause I didn't really care. Also, first 4x4 vehicle so you know I would just send it. I ended being a part of a 3 vehicle accident and they wrote it off. Got $3700 back from the insurance place. Not bad. So I took that money and looked up and down for a chevy that I always wanted. It didn't need to be fancy, it just needed to be what I wanted. I was almost willing to go across the country if I had to.
All I wanted was a 96-98 2 door tahoe with barn doors. Not that difficult, right? Wrong. Eventually I came across my truck and instantly fell inlove. I had to have it.
She's a 1998 Chevy K1500 5.7L extended cab Z71. These are the photos that caught my eye in the ad.
She was far from perfect. With 383xxxkm (so like 288k miles or something), a cylinder 2 misfire, hole in the third door and paint chipping on the rockers from driving down gravel roads for years. On the plus side it had a cowl hood, true dual exhaust, high flo cats (he said he paid $1600 for the exhaust system from a local popular performance shop), it was a nice color and a very clean beige interior besides the tear in the driver seat. It came with an aftermarket Alpine deck installed with kicker speakers. Besides the misfire, it started drove and ran pretty nice.
He was asking $3000 for it but after some haggling I got him down to $1700. Went home, got some money and came back to pick it up a few days later.
