1993- 94 recirculate door actuator

Doesn't the door open when the defroster is in use? My actuator is bad and that's the only time it does its annoying clicking. I turned my defroster on and unplugged the recirculation door actuator's electrical connector. Nice and quiet now. Defroster works well.

I plugged it back in i couldn't cool it down in the cab this winter without using the windows.Seems once it gets too warm in cab there is no cold air entering box without the recirculate actuator working.
