    Updated the post with relevant info. Changed the temp sensor as it was a cheap and easy attempt, but same issue after replacing.

    It is an 89 Fleetside. I'll try the paperclip and see what codes it throws. I am assuming I can find a list of codes online without much searching.

    Don't really need the attitude, and I don't have a scan tool for this truck. So thanks anyway. I am sure someone has experienced a similar situation and will have some knowledge and insight on where to begin.

    Proper TPS testing procedure

    The only scan tool I have is the GM OBD I reader that uses the engine light for the diagnostic display. Is there a good one with the right capabilities that isn't an exorbitant price you can recommend.

    What is the proper testing procedure for the TPS? Should the three prong plug be disconnected and tested for voltage and voltage increase? Or do you need to test it on the TPS? Or pull the TPS off and test it?

    TPS wiring reading .47 at key on and .47 through range to wide open throttle, no change. Injectors not pulsing.

    What would be the cause? Bad ECU? Bad ground?
