    Oil Recommendations

Mechanic used Valvoline 5W-30 Full Synthetic. No issues, motor is running smooth. I'll probably run Mobil1 oil and filter going forward though.

    Oil Recommendations

I didn't run the synthetic for very long before giving in and having a bunch of pre-existing leaks fixed (oil pan, timing cover, etc.). I forgot to ask my mechanic what oil he used after the leak services, but I will the next time I see him. I have to assume it's a synthetic since that's all I...

    Brake Bleeding Heartache

Sorry guys, bad post etiquette on my part. I'll wrap this up. I tried for about a week to get my brakes to bleed with no success. Both wheel cylinders were leaking, so I replaced them but it didn't resolve the problem. I bought an automatic brake bleeder, but it wouldn't connect to my truck. I...

    Brake Bleeding Heartache

Unfortunately it wasn't compatible so I returned it (Amazon). I can't remember the exact error, but after messing with it for a few hours I gave up.

Low Profile Tire "Load Index" Question

Thanks for that advice Richard! With a couple of exceptions, it looked like most of the XL rated tires on Tire Rack had the same weight rating, which made me wonder if they were accurate or not. I went with a Michelin Pilot Sport all season, which had the highest weight rating of all of the...

Thanks 618 Syndicate. I've ordered so many tires from these guys, never had a problem. Maybe just a new sales guy. Appreciate the info!

Low Profile Tire "Load Index" Question

I just spoke to a larger tire chain that says they can't sell me low profile tires (35 series) because my truck is too heavy. What's the workaround here? Obviously guys run low profile tires on their trucks all day long. Is there a manufacturer that makes a thicker/stronger side wall, similar...

Yeah, between the tape marks was as far as I could get the roller to go. Anything else would probably need to be done with a hammer and dolly. I'm going to wait until I get my wheels to see how things measure up.

Lowering Shop in Orange County, Ca.

I took that to mean the notch plate/support. Once the frame has been notched you won't pull that plate off, so you may as well weld it and make it stronger and permanent.

No problem. I was looking at some visors there too. Kind of pricey, especially if you're adding mirrors. Nice truck by the way!
