Somebody is about to have a long expensive weekend.

My bushings are shot, but the ball joints are still tight luckily. A good friend of mine inspects my vehicles and he knows I’m a stickler about the vehicles I put my kids in. I’ve only driven my truck 2000 miles so far and it still needs a couple little things after this weekend. But at least I...

Somebody is about to have a long expensive weekend.

Brake booster started leaking on me a couple weeks ago, I wasn’t real concerned about it since I don’t really drive this truck very much ($4.29 per gallon of gas here, and a 454! Not to mention somebody replaced the 34 gallon tank with a 26 gallon).

Somebody is about to have a long expensive weekend.

It definitely needed done. I bought the truck in June of 2021. It was pretty neglected, had a metric ton of “quick fixes” on just about everything. Passenger manifold was broken, power steering pump was bad and a leaky pressure line, drivers side caliper was seized, bleeder screws on the rear...

    P0716 help

Ended up replacing the sensor. Wasn’t hard. Trans shifts fine now. Thank you for the help

    P0716 help

I’ll check it out. Thank you very much!!

    P0716 help

Yea. Transmission is acting like it wants to lock up at idle every once in a while. That’s the only code it threw

    P0716 help

P0716 is a Turbine input speed sensor

    P0716 help

Threw a P0716 in my 99 K3500 7.4, 4L80 the other day. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is? Is it internal or external?

    Running rich?

If it’s supposed to alternate voltage that fast then it’s probably the sensors. I had a 05 Sierra with an LM7 that ran WAAAAY better than this 454

    Running rich?

Visually speaking they’re probably the original ones and coated in undercoating

    Running rich?

That’s both upstream sensors. Bank 1 and bank 2.

    Running rich?

Voltage went up when I was on the gas
  13. 99BB3500

    Running rich?

So voltage fluctuates in a closed loop between .400 and .535 volts edited because I was in wrong area of the scanner

    Running rich?

Open loop the STFT are close to 0. When it goes into closed loop is when they move down to -10

    Running rich?

The issue with the fuel is either the injectors or FPR. The filter and pump are new. I may change the line just to change it.
  16. 99BB3500

    Running rich?

Does voltage fluctuate in an open loop also, or just in a closed loop?

    Running rich?

I’m assuming they are old yes. Hell they could be original for all I know. I don’t really mind changing out stuff on it just for piece of mind alone. I intend on keeping the truck as long as possible

    Running rich?

No rich or lean condition at all. What all do I need to look at? Only other things I haven’t replaced with the fuel system are the line itself, the injectors and the FPR

    Running rich?

In my opinion it was running rich. I’m not real good at diagnosing problems. But with the STFT being -10 I thought the computer was leaning it out. You may be right. I’m not 100% sure. That’s why I posted here. If there is any confusion I apologize

    Running rich?

Loses a small amount of power and runs lean. What the picture is is both upstream sensors on both banks. Downstream isn’t shown

    Running rich?

This was also after sitting for a few hours and in an open loop.
  22. 99BB3500

    Running rich?

Yes. At idle unless I hit the gas it stayed at .535 volts
  23. 99BB3500

    Running rich?

Both sensors at idle are .535V. Pressing the gas quickly both voltages dropped to .475 on the left and .435 on the right
