The AC is in the oem location, bought the mounts from, LSSimple, price has gone up $100. I would have like to get an L47 air box from a 97 diesel 6.5 with the round filter, but could not find one.

    Body Off

Update, body is back on. Hopefully starting it tomorrow, weather permitting. Took a long time to get the harness back from Performance Wiring. I put the fan relays in the tool box. I still need to do the gas pedal. I will start it with the pedal not mounted. I used a 1995 turbo diesel 6.5 air box.

    Body Off

I did not take it as criticism, I was just saying I would rather do things myself. I won’t respond to criticism. It is hard to stop the snowball, what helps with that are the lack of funds. Needing to order parts holds thing up when hitting snags. I live in a one horse town, no place to pick up...

    Body Off

The key word is ”WE”, I have no help, just me , the hoist, and lift. I am too an*l or just an ass, if something is bad I can only blame myself. I would rather have things done right then fast. Having help would rush things like, can you help me install an engine, and if I am missing the right...

    Body Off

Up date, Y-pipe for a 2005 Silverado installed. Fuel line attached to intake, the orange is insulation. Need to fill the gap from the y-pipe to the muffler. Waiting for my wire harness to get done, tried doing it my self but ended up with extra wires and lack of wires when combining two...

    Body Off

Engine going in had some engine mount problems with being off by an inch too far forward, had to go with different mounts. Install was easy even with the issues with the body off. All this work is by my self that is why I removed the body

    Body Off

I was going to do a body off 5.7 replacement, but going to do an LS swap 5.3 instead. The transmission was leaking and could not see from where. The front diff was leaking and looked like from every where. After lifting the body off seen that the transmission was leaking from the wire harness...

    New Cam bearings-New Cam Clearance?

The cam tool I was using ( POS expandable type) mest up the bearing. Bought a LS specific camshaft bearing tool and bearings went in good, measure 0.003 clearance, a lot better than 0.008. I will install the rest tommoro.

    New Cam bearings-New Cam Clearance?

I am trying to, rebuild a 2005 5.3 for my is swap. I bought a cam and bearings and when i measure bearing clearance i get +0.008. Every thing i read i need +0.002. The over size bearings measure -0.004 . How does one fix this? So when buying engine parts They need to be machined, that's not...

2 Wire conector going no place

I have and seen it on junk yards trucks, behind the splash guard along with the crank sensor harness two wires with a connector that I can't find where it goes. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this I see the air bag sensor and that wire comes from a different harness. 1999...

    The Dreded Random Cylinder Misfire

I have NO idea what "spurring" or "piping" That was supposed to be sputtering and popping, spell check. Check engine light was flickering, I did smell the the cats where getting hot. I still need to check the spark plugs and do a compression test on the cylinders, I will do that once I get...

    The Dreded Random Cylinder Misfire

Trying to troubleshoot a misfire. It started when a slow driver moved out of my way, I gave it gas what down a gear then things went wrong. Spurring, piping, rough idle and light on dash flickering. Things I tested. Fuel pressure, 50 psi at idle, 55 not running and holds pressure with key off...

    Soft brake pedel

ABS must be sucking air, pedal never gets better don't get worse. I will start looking for one or delete it. Is there a rebuild kit for these?

    Soft brake pedel

Could be caveating, not getting better, ran the auto bleed a lot, and the test function.

    Soft brake pedel

I did not check the pistols in the calipers, I have been driving it and no pulling, stops fine . I don't think the brake pedal should be as low as the gas pedal. The auto bleed function does seem odd, the fluid in the reservoir gets air rated with bubbles, knowing this I waited for the bubbles...

    Soft brake pedel

How could it be the QTU valve if plugging the master cylinder out ports and have full pedal? That's funny I was the one leaning toward the QTU.
  22. Dom2door

    Soft brake pedel

The motor on the abs runs when bleeding and when function testing. during bleeding the pedal pumps back up some times and always on the final cycle. Function test pedal pumps up every test. Calipers are free, moves nice and smooth. Need to pull the reservoir to get to the QTU valve, that is...

    Replacing Blown Motor, 5.7... suggestions?

I am planning to freshen up my Tahoe with a same block just better internals (West coast engines) 5.7. I would be afraid of tuning needed for a 383. Tuning is a totally different cost $$$ for OBD2. Unless you data log you don't really know if it needs a tune in the ECM, could run good until its...

    Soft brake pedel

Rabbit The photo you posted with the green circles. Those are on the proportioning valve. When I activate the dump valves with my scan tool the pedal acts like i think it should, pedal all the way to the floor for each of the 3 sections. I believe the fountain that jets up when I press the pedal...
