So everything was going fine, then...

Long story short, It runs again. I bought an amazon front pump, cause I'm freaking tired of working on it. Fwiw, the gap was right about 3/16" Then on the maiden cruise, the DS front lugnuts backed off and I threw two of them out into the wild blue yonder. I'm so over this ****.

So everything was going fine, then...

I don't think this is related to my previous problem, (leak in torque converter), or the problem after that, (I mis-assembled the band while hunting for former leak). I did get to drive it for about 3 days, then it drops dead about a 1/2 mile from my house. At this rate I'm spending 50~60 bucks...

    2-4 Servo cover, can I use a std O-ring?

True, but the dealership would take a week, and the nearest trans shop to me is 2 hours away, and has hours almost identical to my work hours. So I'd have to either wait a week or take a vacation day and spend half of it traveling for an o-ring. It's not for every situation, but if you're in a...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

I'm pretty sure it was the band being just unhooked. This all started with a hunt for a leak, during which I pulled and resealed the front pump. My best guess thinking is that I must have wiggled it too hard when trying to get it back together and knocked the fixed end of the band off of it's...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Aaaahhhhhh!!!! It's fixed. I hooked the band back up and reassembled and reinstalled. Can't describe how good that first 1-2 shift felt. I have little puddles of ATF all over the shop and the truck is wet from the bellhousing to the tailgate, so tommorrow she gets a bath. Shop too. Next...

    2-4 Servo cover, can I use a std O-ring?

So, I was able to figure it out. A #236 o-ring is a perfect match. So if you ever find yourself in a bind like I did, visit a place that does heavy equipment or hydraulic repair and see if they'll sell you a couple. Interesting note: Amazon, Servo Oring for 4L60E is 9.82 Amazon, #236 Oring for...

    2-4 Servo cover, can I use a std O-ring?

I need an oring for my 4l60E's servo cover, thought I had one, was proven wrong. Don't want to wait a week for one to get here. Will a standard size O-ring fit? Or, is it something weird and special? Also, pretty hacked with amazon lately. I think they got lazy when shipping was universally...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

I think it was .085 with the sonnax servo and shaft. Shaft length is near identical with the GM shaft I put back in. Did that in truck last time, and didn't feel like messing with it. Will have to get gaskets and re-assemble before I can recheck.

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

4 hours sleep last night, so forgive if i miss details. It's out. Couldn't find any damage. That's good, cause expensive parts aren't trashed. That's bad cause I still don't have a smoking gun. Did have one oddity. The front drum came out real easy. In fact it came with the front pump when I...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Thing is, I drove it after installing the 'vette servo. Not far, it was still leaking then, but far enough. I see four options. 1. Some weird failure in the servos. 2. The band broke. Probably where the metal is spot welded near the ends. 3. The case broke, where the band anchors. 4. I somehow...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

I ran out of new words a coupla months ago. If this keeps up, I'm gonna hafta learn to curse in German or something. As far as I can see the codebook only works if you have a code as a starting point, so no codes. I was looking at the image you posted back on the first page of this thread...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Still not working. Pulled and replaced the Hot Garbage wiring harness. Filled with an appropriate amount of ATF. Did a complete front end rebuild, cause why not? Went for a test drive. I have 1st, and if I wrap it up and let off the throttle, 3rd. Same as before. No changes. I did notice...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Parts finally came in. Trans is back together, but no fluid and I haven't tested it out yet. Mostly this is because I've dissasembled the front suspension. Thought I could get it done over the weekend, but got shipping borked instead. I did test the continuity between the A and B solenoid plugs...

Anybody who sees this DO NOT BUY. https:// www .amazon.com/gp/product/B01GMZLBV8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This has the parts list for all the levels. I did Level 2. Pretty sure the servo release valve isn't involved...

Continuity, 1st check from ECM (still plugged in) to Solenoid (unplugged). (tranny plug still connected) 2nd check from ECM (still plugged in) to Wiring harness Trans Plug (unplugged). 3rd check from Transmission connector (definitely unplugged) to Solenoid (unplugged). All 3 good on the green...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Either the jittery connection allowed it, or I have somehow offended the transmission gods and this was my punishment. Go figure. I'll get a new harness and we'll know for sure.

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

I looked at rockauto earlier, but couldn't find. For some reason they're under electrical connectors instead of transmission parts. Fun fact. ATP and Rostra have the exact same manufacturer's image. Which proably means Rostra makes it and ATP marks it up and resells it. Probably, maybe.

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Got going too late to hit the hardware store for a gauge. Decided to pull pan and run continuity checks. Solenoid A, green wire, is good all the way. Solenoid B, goes dead at the main harness connector. The wiring harness (external) is good, but I couldn't get continuity from the pin in the...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad you're stumped too. I've been fighting this mess for MONTHS now. O.K., mostly the torque converter leak, but still. When it shifts, it shifts firmly and I've experienced nothing that feels like slippage. I'm headed off now, but will try for a...

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

I attached two LED's with resistors to the connector at E9 (Shift Solenoid A, Light Green) Left side in video. E8 (Shift Solenoid B, Yellow with Black stripe) Right side in video. End result, it appears the ECM is commanding correctly, the trans is either not receiving, or ignoring commands...

No pressure gauge. I can get one monday. Pump wouldn't even start horizontal, so I stood it up. I did check the teflon seals before I slid it in, but stuff happens.

Checked F13, Results pretty much identical to F12. I DID plug the trans plug back in for this test. I DID NOT have it in for the previous one. It shifted only once this time. Which allowed it to "idle" at almost 18mph. Not sure which gear that is, but.. Also.

93 4l60E (probably electrical) Problem with shifting.

Trans was totally dismantled including valve body for rebuild 1.5 to 2 years ago. I opened up the pan and pulled the front pump to replace the gasket while leak hunting prior to all this happening. I didn't pull anything unnecessary. The valvebody was untouched.

Wait, I think I was looking at a wiring diagram without a trans. Most likely for manual trans. TP sensor, A15 Dark Blue wire. Speed sensor, F12 Brown wire. Shift solenoid A, E9 Light Green wire. Shift solenoid B, E8 Yellow with Black stripe wire. Back soon.
