Alternator issue got me stumped

My alternator stopped charging on my ls swap. Tried a new one same issue. With the exciter wire unplugged I have 12v at the output post on the alt. When I plug the exciter in it drops to 5v. Exciter wire has 10v running thru it when the key is on and truck is running. Ohm’d the wires going back...

DJM??

So who can tell me why djm kit 2057-57 won’t fit my 1990 c3500 cause djm has no clue. I’ve called them and they keep trying to tell me my suspension falls under the old c30 square body design even though it clearly doesn’t. It’s the same setup as the 91,92,93 and so on. What gives?
