Not sure if this should go here or in audio/electronics but here goes

The wife got me an ipad dash kit for Christmas, and I was thinking of building a new center console to mount it in, but decided to try a dash mount. I’ll relocate the heater controls to the console instead. Here’s a couple pics of the start. If the epoxy i used on the outside ever cures I can start doing the finishing “bodywork”

Ooooh....that's neat! Can't wait to see how this works out for you .
Should have sprung for the 5 min stuff!! Lol
Allegedly it is the 5min stuff. Gorilla epoxy. First time I’ve used it. I usually use JB plastic welder for this type of stuff but thought I’d try this. At double the price I’m not overly impressed. Anyways body work done, first coat of primer on to find any imperfections. Got one pinhole at the top and that’s pretty much it. So far it’s going smoothly

What paint will you use to match the bezel plastic?
I haven't decded on that yet. I can't decide if I want to match the grey of the dash pad, or paint it the original argent color. Well this one is black from a plain truck, but the one I have in the truck now is the grey one.

Are you going to use a Sony dsx or similar?
No, I have 2 different options. I'm running an old school Rockford RFX8140 head unit which has line in inputs, and I also have a Rockford Symmetry EPX2 that has a set of line in jacks if I want to bypass the head unit all together and run it straight thru that instead. The only decent pic of the head unit I have right now
