    A/C Condensate Line Discharge...Where?

Yeah...mud daubers like openings like that. Spiders like dry locations like that as well. Especially if the truck has been parked for a while. Thanks!

    A/C Condensate Line Discharge...Where?

I have a "88 GMC Sierra C1500 SLE and I'm getting condensate leaking on the passenger side floor. I know the discharge line is more than likely plugged but where does it exit the cab? Online it shows a 90 degree rubber ell coming out under the accumulator or near the heater core lines but I...

ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME

Like Hot wheels burban and bowtie 72 I think you've got a leaking rear wheel cylinder. I had a dull red glow on the brake light. I read up on it and yep, it was true. Drum wasn't wet so I pulled the boot away from the cylinder and there it was. Replaced both sides. Then, I got rid of the...

    Stupid question about brake shoes

I agree with dropped88. I worked in the garage for a utility company and we always had new drums/rotors turned before install. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's perfect. I took an evening class on brakes/alignment/etc at the community college. The instructor said it was common for...

    Brake light on

Outlaw 910, check your brakes and if you have rear brake shoes check your brake cylinder(s). My '88 was showing a brake light at different brightness of "red". Looked in the shop manual and sure 'nuff it explained the problem. Pulled the drums and found one cylinder "weeping" so I did a...

    Trailer plug

The 6x12 manufactured enclosed trailer I pull, the interior lighting comes off the exterior clearance lights. The lighting fixture is switched. The interior lights only work when the exterior lighting are on. I added 2 more lights and put all 3 on a wall mounted switch as I enter the side...

By some chance has the tailgate been damaged? Twisted because of a heavy load put on the gate? Bed twisted? Frame?

    Wiper Cowl Screws

I removed my cowl recently for new wiper arms. Snapped the thing in two and I'll repair later. The end panels are the long ones like Erin said and the other 3 are short. Mine were rusted at the head and I had to use an easy out to remove them. I replaced all 5 with stainless steel since the...

I need a new power steering gearbox......

I'm sorry...I misquoted the redhead price. I saved the $150.00 core charge by having the original gearbox rebuilt. I need tequila.......

I need a new power steering gearbox......

I needed a rebuilt gearbox and I too went with Redhead. They rebuilt my original for $150.00 less than a swap. Took about a week with US snail mail but it's in and works fine. I read too many complaints on big box store gearboxes...I'm doing it once and that's it. The problem was shipping...

Using PTFE tape or Teflon tape on metal fuel line fittings?

I agree with the fellers about Teflon tape shearing off on threads. I’ve been in the natural gas field for 47 years and we use pipe dope on ALL threaded fittings. Key Tite is the brand we use. Heavy, oily and doesn’t dry out. You have to go to a plumbing store to get it. Big box stores...

    Interior Handle-which one?

My '88 handle broke on me as well. I went to LMC and bought the assembly but found out the remanufactured was overall 1/8" shorter. I took it back and the owner of LMC just happened to be there. Showed her the problem and she refunded all my money back with an apology. Went on ebay (hated...

One more thing...is the accelerator sticking because of dirt/mud under the peddle, floor mat/carpeting in the way?

    88 1500 5.0 throttle sticking closed

Here's a thought...are you cranking down hard on the air cleaner? I know it may sound crazy but the air cleaner could bind the throttle cable and keep it open? I know working on a few carbs that an overtightened air cleaner would cause the air horn to warp binding the choke.

    Turn signals ?

When you replace a fuse you might coat the fuse with dielectric grease for a better contact. Even though the fuse may not look blown I’d pull it and check for continuity. Any electrical connections on my vehicles get dielectric grease.

    Steering column/ignition switch

My ‘88 does not have the backwards rotation for accessories. The first click is steering wheel/tranny unlock only. The next click is accessories then start. Failure of cylinder locks is lack of lubrication and too many keys on the key ring. Dry graphite the cylinder once a year and seperate...
