    Loose wire under engine

    EVO. I just took mine off a couple weeks ago and put a 96 power steering pump on. The plug is bright red with 2 wires. It’s the last one in that run of wires, just past the crank sensor. I say leave it unhooked!

    97 k1500 5.7 Won’t shift out of 1st. Speedometer reads zero. This has happened twice. Unhook the battery for 5 mins and it goes away. Suggestions? Sounds like VSS needs replaced

    Power steering wire?

    My 97 k1500 has a wire plugged in to the back of the power steering. I’ve never seen that before. Is it for some kind of idiot light when the fluid gets low? I need to replace the pump. I have a standard Vortec style pump on hand, but it doesn’t have a provision for a wire.

    i know core supports from 96-98 will work for my 97. What is the difference between them and earlier years? I have access to 3 free supports from TBI trucks. If it’s a matter of j-clips being in different places then it’s a no-brainer. I can’t find any info online about WHY they’re different. Thanks
