    Is it possible?

You should be fine. My point about mixing CDMs was to simply point out the 'universe-ality' of the components and wiring harness.

Radio In and Out, Mostly Out

Incidentally, I would get one from a '93, '94 or '95 (cars only). They are better and more realiable. The one pictured on the left above, 1616996, is a good one for non-EQ systems. Here a pic of testing one in a '95 Eldorado, with a trunk mounted CDM. The CDM is the top half of some of the...

    Is it possible?

AFAIK, it should work. I don't recall any wiring differences. You can even swap the Control Data Module (CDM, tuner/amp, above accelerator pedal) between EQ and non-EQ, but they don't work quite right (but they will make sound).

Radio In and Out, Mostly Out

The Control Data Module (CDM), above the accelerator pedal, is the most failure prone part of the system. The CDM is a combination tuner and amp. Here is a front and rear picture of a pair of them.

Fuel Pump Only Runs Off Oil Pressure Switch

The fuel pump relay is bad. The redundant circuit through the oil pressure switch is doing exactly as designed to keep the vehicle functional. Since I see you have a carb, I don't know if you are still using an ECU for control. My assumption would still be the OEM configuration, with the ECU...

Ever see a CDM with a temp warning? This is a non-Bose, '94 DeVille.

replacing single din with double din stereo

To reiterate Brandon's sage advice, the serial bus (and later) stereos are not remotely plug and play. I wanted this, from an '05 LeSabre, Note the OBD2 connector above in pic for future communication, if needed. But this is what it took to do it! One of the above modules is for XM radio...

Wanting to throw the original radio back in my truck.

It stands for Control Data Unit. Turner and amp, or just pre-amp with Bose systems. Not unique to trucks, and some were integrated into 1.5 DIN head units. Cadillac's even had the CDU in the trunk!

Picked up another today. The non-EQ CDM is on your list, from '93 Olds ('91 to '93) that is part of the radio. This is the radio. Seen quite a few of these, first one I retrieved. Don't quite recognize the cassette section. I went ahead and paired it with a '94 CDM from a loaded Suburban...

Let me know if you find any schematics or diagrams. It appears to be an 11 speaker system, in between the base system and a Bose.

The rear deck speakers are 4 ohms too, not the weird Bose stuff. The foam from the suspensions was laying on the cover. I'll have to power up one of these and see what they are like. The front door speakers were the little 4"-5" rounds like the other cars of this body, hidden under much larger...

This was new one on me as well, I thought you might like it. Kind of wish I had popped the cover of the amp.

The car appeared to have some sort of a center speaker in the dash (no pic). Took down the cover under the rear deck, figuring there must be some sort of amp hiding. Haven't researched exactly what the active sound system is, I'm guess some sort of speed and noise monitoring. At any rate, I...

Ran across something today of which I was not familiar, looking to take some CDM pics. 1995 DeVille, non-Bose. Was going to snag the CDM, since it was a newer one. It wasn't a Bose car, so I had to go look inside again. Pulled it out to get a better look.

Here are the 2 different cassette mechanisms I currently have in the CDM radios. Incidentally, Cadillac's only use the CDMs through '95. I'll try to get some pics of locations this weekend, if I can make it out. I have a number of parts requested I am hoping to satisfy on my next trip.

I have noticed a variation in the decks myself. IIRC, I think the mechanism had a couple different manufacturers.

Odd tid-bit on the lack of balance on the Delco-Bose. Note the unmarked control for balance and the knob with no 'pointer'. The control is built into the head unit and you can turn it. I assume it is non-functional in stock form. I don't know it if will respond simply by swapping the CDM (I...

Cadillac's are all on the passenger's side. Some are near the power antenna. Some are a little farther forward towards the back seat (small Eldorado & Seville).

Got another couple part numbers for you. This 16140942 was used in '92 Buick PA/LeSabres with EQ. I left this CDM behind (really didn't want to buy it to repair, I could already hear it 'ticking' raising and lowering the volume. I paired it to purchase with a CDM from the trunk of a '95...

This is the truck CDM number. I would suspect it did match the '94 I took it from, as it is the later production from when it shifted to Singapore from Kokomo, IN.

This one is kinda fun! This is a '94 C/K CDM with EQ. I paired it with a really nice Delco Bose Gold head unit with fully function tape. I'm testing it with a mix tape I made decades ago!

IIRC, going high or low on 'DATA' does all the switching for inputs, not a specific, signal or pulse. These even kick up the volume one increment which switching from the radio, which matches the volume level better.

Blue LEDs in a 94 Stereo

I'm so glad the later, double DIN radios are far easier to retrofit with 3mm LEDs. You have a lot of work in that!
