OMG Metal clanking sound in reverse

Bump and update. Noticed the clanking this morning on both reverse and forward gears. The faster I go, the less the clank is noticeable till its gone. Really loud on startup, then eventually goes away. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OMG Metal clanking sound in reverse

Maybe the video is working now. I should have been more clear but this clanking occurs even when the truck is not moving. Im not very mechanically inclined, but I think that rules out a ujoint. I wish it was something simple, but that would not be my luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OMG Metal clanking sound in reverse

So new problem with the 4L60E in my 96 Yukon. A metallic, rhythmical clanking sound when in reverse. Seems like the sound is louder when truck is cold. Only notice it in reverse. Any ideas? I've attached a video so you can hear, but it was dark outside. Thanks!https://vimeo.com/121209684...

Wiring offroad lights to aux lamp switch

Does anyone know the pinout for the OEM aux lamp switch on a 96 GMC? I have the switch, pigtail and wire harness for 2 KC Daylighters but don't know where each wire goes if I was to use the stock switch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Torque Converter Troubles

Just noticed on Monday that my truck is jumping in and out of overdrive while at all speeds. When i leave work for the day, i am almost instantly at 60 mph. It sometimes takes a few minutes for the truck and tranny warm up before the TC locks. After that, no problems. But monday it took me a...

    Fender Flare help

Thanks for the info! After further review, i think the front flares are aftermarket, and the rears are OEM. Pretty awesome. They have different types of screws, and I know the front has double sided tape. On the rear wheel wells I still don't see any speed nuts to take off? What do I have to...

    Fender Flare help

1996 Yukon 2 door. When I bought it 5 years ago it had what I thought were OEM fender flares on it. They were kinda in rough shape then. Fast forward and now those fender flares need to be replaced. How do I take them off? There are screws on the wheel well lip that obviously come off, but is...

Couple of engine issues... Need advice

The rushing water sound behind the dash is air trapped in your cooling system. Mine does the same thing and I found my waterpump was leaking and fixing to fail. Replace the water pump, no more gurgling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anyone with a OEM fog switch know if it's supposed to be back lit? The little square led lights in the switch but what about where it says "fog"?

    Kicker Hideaway

I have an infinity powered sub in my 2 door yukon. It's small enough to tuck in behind the spare tire (mounts in the cargo area on the 2 doors). Plus it's a 10" instead of an 8. I like it for what it is. Its not gonna blow the doors off but it gives some foundation to the music

    Vibrations at highway speeds

Well I did go to a tire shop today. We rotated and balanced to see if anything helps. He and I inspected the control arms, ball joints and all front end stuff while the wheels were off, and everything was tight and bushings were good. Next I want to check the driveshaft and u-joints for anything...

    Vibrations at highway speeds

Ok did a little road test this morning. I found a smooth stretch of asphalt highway and got on it. 70 mph my truck is vibrating almost like Im driving on a washboard road. Im watching my hands shake constantly. Before I was mistaking bumps in the road for the not smooth ride. Its the whole...

    Vibrations at highway speeds

Its kinda hard to describe I guess. The road I drive to work and back is not smooth. I noticed the rough ride when I got new wheels and tires put on about 15,000 miles ago. The wheels were not hubcentric and I figured that was the problem. I got hubcenteric rings put on and it was better, but...

    Vibrations at highway speeds

I think its a combination of the two things. On a smooth interstate running 75 mph I can feel vibrations. On a rougher road It seems like I feel every bump, plus the vibrations. Believe me, I know how old trucks ride. My weekend truck is my Grandfathers 1978 Scout, lifted 4" with Rough Country...

    Vibrations at highway speeds

Help! I have no real idea why, but at highway speeds I can feel every bump in the road. My commute is 20 miles at 70 mph. While the roads arent great, I feel myself getting beat up while driving. My truck is a 96 2 door yukon with 182,000 miles. I have a 3" body lift and 295/75/r16 Nitto Terra...

Tech: Every possible dash switch for GMT400 trucks

I love this thread. Awesome to see what folks can do to to make some really nice stock looking switches! Here's my setup. I got lucky and found both my switches on Ebay, and my truck already had the pigtails in the dash. The aux light switch runs a set of KC Daylighters in my grill guard.
