    I have a 1995 chevy k1500 with a 10 bolt 8.5" with 3.42 gears. My buddy has a 10 bolt rear axle out of a 1985 k10 with 4.56 gears also 8.5".     I have a 1995 k1500. 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires. 3.73 gears just don't turn the tires as well as I would like them to. It's still a dailey driver so I don't want to tank the fuel economy.
