Do you mean the early aluminum front skid plate? I didn't think the Z71 package included anything special beyond shocks and stickers? I have skids plates, but my truck is not a Z71. You may be eliminating parts if you're specifically searching for Z71.

I Thought that skid plates were a strictly z71 part? I know my 99 k1500 doesn't have them and Id like that little extra piece of mind

Skid plates are another RPO

NZZ PACKAGE,OFF ROAD SKID PLATE,SPORT SKID PLT PKG(NZZ)

There are actually three skid plates on my truck. A plastic skid plate defector thing right up front. The earlier ones were aluminum. Then there is an aluminuim one under the differential, and one further back under something else...I actually need to put mine back on. They're off because I've been chasing leaks.

I got lucky and snagged an aluminum front skid plate off an 89 K1500 at a Pull-A-Part, I'm wishing I would've grabbed the fuel tank skid plate too but didn't think to check if it had one.

I don't have a fuel tank skid plate, unless the plastic cover counts.

That's all my 96 has, just a plastic cover. I saw somewhere that some Z71 package trucks got the full skid plate treatment with front deflector, front dif, t-case, and fuel tank;

Where are you located? The early aluminum skid plates are pretty common here. I could probably grab you a set but shipping wouldn't be cheap. PM me if you're interested.

like 454cid said, look for RPO code NZZ. While its separate from Z71 and therefore available on any gmt400 4x4 including suburbans/tahoes, but every Z71 I've seen has em. pull a part also has a website listing their inventory but unfortunately in my area doesnt state if a truck is 2 or 4wd.
