long time no update, was struggling with DMV paperwork. I bought it, but the it was processed as a lien sale and had $2100+ in fees!!! a few trips to dmv and finally got someone to help me and walked out for "only" $810. Big learning experience, one I won't forget. Title comes next week! Still...

Did you have to have it retuned when you changed cams? I also read somewhere you need to modify the head or valve springs, its too much lift for the stock setup (?) But yes, the 502 cam is the one I've looked at most.

Yea I hold no expectations for mpg lol from what I read in the vortec 7.4 thread that much lift becomes an issue with the stock heads? That cam would require tuning to run right and have a chance to pass smog right? Genuinely curious because I know roughly what I WANT to do if it were all fair...

Some pics of the tires when turning. Still not sure of the backspacing of the rim. Took the cover off the wiper motor area and vacuumed a bunch of crud out. The firewall/cab seam had some gaps so I sealed it back up and put silicone on the two right side screws. Hopefully no more water...

Your size is just slightly narrower than mine (less than 1/2") but I'm not sure of the backspacing on these rims. Or even if there's wheel spacers on it. Once I find the backspace I'll post it and see if I can find other rims with better specs.

Yea I'm 99% sure it's a lifter. I've heard exhaust leaks, my 1500 had a rod bearing knock so I've heard that. I think it was more wishful thinking for the exhaust lol and I JUST out injectors and resealed the lower intake so I'm a little upset about coming apart again...but emotion doesn't...

I think that's the plan for now- f*ckit run it lol I'll try and link a video with the sound. I've always wanted a heavier truck for towing and hauling, camping trips, ect. Also really wanted a big block or diesel crew cab. My little k1500 is awesome but not quite big enough for some jobs. Long...

Still hunting the tick...I rewatched a video I took and listened to the noise, I was wrong it is present at higher RPM the engine is just loud and masks it. Flexplate is fine, didn't hear anything abnormal with a stethoscope on the valve cover, found more exhaust leaks (more bolts missing than...

Haven't got it open yet but I think it's tweaked. One side is past the latch and stuck in the "open" position while the other side is still latched and the handle won't do anything anymore. Hitting a couple stops with engine work so might fiddle with it later.

One more. Bed has seen better days but it's a truck soo... The tailgate is stuck closed and could use some sledgehammer massaging on the rails but it'll work!

Pic dump while I'm eating lunch. Lift is indeed pro comp. Are there any larger flare options for these trucks? I like the look of this tire size, but they rub bad even on flat ground. I'd like to trim to fit them but love the flares and dont want it to look like hell from cutting. Interior is...

Yea I'm bad about pics especially when I'm in the thick of it lol sorry! I'll upload a few I did manage. The lift was already there, i think is procomp. Not sure on height maybe 6? Only complaint is the lift blocks out back, planning on a 4" shackle flip to correct that. The tires are...

Alright new idler and tensioner, new radiator (oil cooler line leak, threads wrecked) and changed the oil. Starts right up! CEL is off, idles much better, sounds better. Drove up and down the driveway and let it warm up, so far decent. Also did replace wires, plugs, and threw a new distributor...
