1988 c1500 5.7 swap
I may be wrong on this, but if I remember right, the early TBI motors were still considered a gen2 small block. That being said, the gen2 small block started in the late 50s I think. Any bare block should work for you. You'll just have to reuse the heads and intake unless you run a carb...- rosco

What type of fluid in a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 transfer case
It depends on which tcase you have. If it's the NP243, then tranny fluid will work, if it's the NP246, you need the autotrac fluid available at the dealer. Easy way to tell, do you have the Auto4wd button? If yes, 246, if no, 243. I have the 246 and went through all this myself recently.- rosco

Turbo 400 to 700r4
You'll need a TV (throttle valve I think) cable and there is a vacuum adapter for the lockup torque converter so OD will work properly and not burn up the trans. I've been looking at converting a th350 to 700r4. You may be able to reuse the crossmember, not sure of the length, but you should...- rosco

Lower control arms rubbing on brake rotors
I don't know about anyone else, but it looks like the ball joint isn't fully seated to me. I don't think it'll make a difference to the OP though. Looks like he put up the pics and got butt hurt and left because no one responded soon enough.- rosco
