Just wondering what is the correct fluid to put in a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 transfer casewith the push button? I keep gett ing different answers.

I just did mine I used ams oil ATF fluid takes about 2.5 quarts
It depends on which tcase you have. If it's the NP243, then tranny fluid will work, if it's the NP246, you need the autotrac fluid available at the dealer. Easy way to tell, do you have the Auto4wd button? If yes, 246, if no, 243. I have the 246 and went through all this myself recently.
