    Almost everything was replaced. Treed 2 different dizzys, shaped between old and new oil pump with same thing. Rod bearing spun before, not main. New rod, heads, bearings, cam bearings..... almost everything new. Mic'ed and use plastiguage. Checked out good. The only thing I can think of...

    Wow, never really though of this. Almost everything on my truck is new besides the rusted POS rear axle. It would be nice just to swap it out with one that has disk brakes and not have to deal with drums ever again.

    For the 400 I would say it is the switch. I have replaced that ******* 4 times and next time I will be ripping out the wiring and motor, replacing it, and installing relays.

    Same here with the weird temp gauge. I wouldn't worry about it, all of the 400's I drove showed low voltage with the key off, it is the others that seem to drift.

    Dr.Zoom, the barn door lock a few seconds after the doors are closed. If the doors are open and you hit any of the lock switches, being either the fob or doors, then shut the barn doors whenever you are finished the rear lock will activate after the door is closed. I noticed it a while ago...

    So, I hit the 250k mark and had to rebuild the engine because I cracked a head and melted a piston. I finally had the funds to put it together and the first time I was getting low pressure, around 40 cold and 10 when warm. The rockers were also not getting oil. I took the engine apart again...

    Never thought about taping into the original radiator fittings like that. Almost looks factory.

    97 Vortec 5.7 Idle/Surging Problem

    The leak might not be as obvious as mine. I had a bad intake gasket a while back (the one between the two halves) and it would surge badly and try to take off under idle. I had to use the spray seafoam around the intake until I found it.
