Spark plug wires not fully snapped on?

Could loose spark plug wires cause an ignition coil to go bad or possibly the distributor to burn up? 95 5.7 with MPFI and it had the SLIGHTEST misfire and an EXTREMELY hard start (5-10 times before it starts and sometimes would have to wait 30 minutes or an hour to fire up) and we checked all...

Not sure, a buddy of ours had it on there when we got it.

    Upcoming 95 K1500 350 Build

Yeah they are fun projects definitely, I've had 2 in the past, I plan to start some time in October, and will keep updating.

    Hard Start/No Start

Been having an issue with my 95 Chevrolet K1500 5.7 with an aftermarket MPFI system when starting. For the past 2 weeks the truck has had no issue with start right up, where hot or cold or any condition, and out of nowhere I went to start it up and no start after about 10 cranks. Exhaust has...

    Posi/LSD or open diff.

I gotcha, our mechanic had already replaced both diff's fluid. Not sure what he put in there or what additives etc. But I will definitely keep this in mind. Also are you sure about no friction modifier or limited slip additive? What about the front end fluid?

    Posi/LSD or open diff.

Well I would expect it to lock up and spin both tires when doing a burnout right? Because the one tire is spinning much much faster than the other because the other is not spinning at all, and when I let go of the brake, the other tire spins just enough to give a little smoke but that's it...

    Posi/LSD or open diff.

I looked in the glove box and I seen the sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers (assuming that's the RPO sticker with tons of codes you're referencing) and amidst those codes I did see a "G80", what does this mean?

    Posi/LSD or open diff.

Took my truck to a trusted mechanic to have some work done for a freshly bought truck. We bought it from a friend, 95 Chevrolet k1500 5.7 automatic. Got it back and was told the rear end was a “locker”. So we decided to test that theory out, and got confused. We went to an old backroad to give...

    Upcoming 95 K1500 350 Build

Well I'm not sure if my motor is a roller or not, I just matched the cam to the heads and called it a day, but when disassembly happens, I will find out and will make adjustments from there. The pushrod length should be just fine with this cam and heads, as long as its not over .480 or .500...

    Upcoming 95 K1500 350 Build

I've decided to stay with fuel injection (I hate it but I'm learning modern tech lol) and with that in mind, I am planning a motor build for my truck. My engine is a "stage 2" crate motor replacement that was put in about 8 years ago with an aftermarket MPFI system implemented into it. It's...

    NV3500 and NV4500

Been doing a lot of thinking.. (lol probably a bad thing) but online rates these trans to have a much lower TQ and HP rating than i would think. For example, in my case if I were to swap my auto for the NV3500, they are factory rated at 300 ft/lbs of tq? That doesn't seem right at all. A buddy...

    95 Chevrolet k1500 5.7 tbi issue

I am going to check fuel pressure, check for vacuum leaks and look at injectors to see if they are spraying good because I don't feel like tearing into a TBI right now lol

    95 Chevrolet k1500 5.7 tbi issue

Well our mechanic said he replaced the fuel pump with one that gave 65+ psi, but not sure, i'll have to check it again.

95 Chevrolet K1500 5.7 TBI to Carb Swap

Well I’m not sure why carb gets so much hate, i haven’t seen a lot of people go back to TBI or even regret it after carb swapping lol
