    New R4 compressor, accumulator

I am installing a compressor kit in my ‘94 and I’m having a problem finding info on how much oil to add to new compressor and accumulator. It calls for Pag 150 but how much in each? I am not confident that I can drain and measure the old one(s) because the old compressor failed prematurely. I...

Is there a seal kit I can buy? I have a Chevy dealer near by.

    A/C compressor not cycling on

Good recommendations guys. Like I said in the first post, the system was rebuilt 4 years ago, with condenser, compressor and orifice. I don’t believe the accumulator was changed though. The compressor didn’t grenade, it was the condenser that leaked. Could I get by with just a compressor...

    A/C compressor not cycling on

I want to replace all of the O-rings that I can get to, (everything but the evaporator). Can someone suggest a good kit? I removed the cycling switch and found a small o-ring that is squared? on the edges? Need to replace that one as well. I am going the route of new compressor, new...

    A/C compressor not cycling on

I think I am going to go the route of replacing the compressor, check the orifice tube first, new seals, then have a shop charge it. Thanks so much for all of the pointers. This forum is awesome!!

If I just end up replacing the compressor, which one should I buy? I think I bought this one from NAPA. Are there any other parts/ o-rings I should replace while I'm in there? 1998, I see that you mentioned the Dryer and clean the orifice tube, Thanks!

I see, the input shaft is the drive shaft/pulley. So the old compressor is salvageable if it is an input shaft o-ring leak?

    A/C compressor not cycling on

When I had the A/C rebuilt 4 years ago, the shop installed new condenser up front because it had leaked, so should be good but I'll check. The more I think about it, the more I believe it is a slow leak. It seems to me that every time I have looked at the compressor since last summer I have...

Here are two pics in the dark with UV. The back of the compressor is clean.

Well, UV light tells the story. Compressor failed and blew Freon all over everything. Now it’s time to decide if I wanna put more $$$ into it. Summers here in Northern California can get up to 110*. I dunno at this point. Thanks everyone!

Thanks TBI- That’s what I’m afraid of. The shop that did the work put dye in it, so I guess it’s time to buy a uv light and take a look.

    A/C compressor not cycling on

I just noticed today that my A/C ‘94 350 is blowing hot and compressor is not cycling on. It seemed to just stop blowing cold. After a little research I tried bypassing the cycling switch with a jumper and compressor kicked in. Thought it was the cycling switch so bought a new one and same...
