    In desperate need of help

Once had a Dodge minivan cruise control module decide to go haywire while my wife was pulling into the driveway with the house right in front of her. It went WOT and she stood on the brakes but it was not stopping, I hulked the shifter on the column into park, in the process that poor...

Pretty sure an overtightened serpentine will just kill the idler/tensioner pulley bearing before anything else. The water pump may be in danger before anything else. But the tensioner is there for a reason, to keep the right tension, you would have to really **** it up to lose all travel in...

I was expecting the next reply to be "truck burnt to the ground" when he said he removed the fuse.

I added Sta-Bil and the engine started knocking. Uh Oh...

Good thing I intend to rebuild soon! current plans are a full tear down and rebuild outside the vehicle as part of a homeschool project showing the kids the operation and engineering of an ICE and how all of the many small parts work in tandem to move us down the road.

Final update on this. Sta-bill cleaned the crud off a valve (exhaust port valve, piston 7) and it was causing the rocker arm to rattle. Followed procedure to tighten, no more issue.

    Learned something new...

I replaced both of mine with leds and actually have some custom leds coming to do a different setup. The automatic one is going to be wired to some strips to light the whole engine bay up with less power draw than the 1156 that was there originally, and the reel is going to get a custom 3d...

No problem at all, I appreciate the back and forth, gave me a lot of info! I didn't stay off my feet, they got worse, now I am taking it easy, for real. Gonna scope it tomorrow to see what I am working with. Doc got me a couple of hard shell boots I can walk in, he said if he can't keep me from...

Looking forward to seeing that, been a long time since my IASCA days and building rigs, but still love to see the new ones being built these days.

I say that all the time, it took me 20 years to get to this size, it is going to take time to lose it. As for the truck, finally got a chance to get out there, I had to repair a transmission line on my Mazda so it was the perfect time to check on the truck. Started it up, grabbed the...

The metal in my eye was from fixing the tip of a screwdriver with the belt sander, a spark made its way under my face shield and past my safety glasses and ended up melting to my contact. 1 in a million chance. The screwdriver looks nice though, went from broken and useless to a repaired handle...

Quick update, I haven't had a chance to get out there, got some metal in my eye last week, planned to go out this weekend, and am now currently stuck on my butt in a boot with a lame foot. Little to no walking allowed. I will be taking everyone's advice and I will follow up when I have some more...

Now that's a damned Shadetree trick if I ever saw one. Love it! I had a bunch of cleaning to do on the garage today, but I will be out there futzing with her tomorrow and figure out the issue.
