    Led bulb headlight

LED bulbs have limited hours of operation at full lumens, some are only like 200 hour range. This might mean you are better off NOT having the DRL's, as that woulsd power the bulbs for lots more hours.

    Suburban roof rack

spotted a 97 suburban for sale that has no roof rack. If this came from factory without rack, would it have the mounting provisions like tapped holes to add a rack later? It is base model, almost like "work truck" options. Nothing fancy.

Anyone running a Curt FRONT receiver hitch? Need opinions for my '96 K1500

2500 and 1500 frames are different. the angle at front is not the same, so if you get the wrong one the hitch will not be level.

Prevent Rust on Solid Body Parts

Also look at "3M Cavity Wax", and Cavity wax applicator wands. The wands up to 3 ft long let you drag it through the rocker while spraying.

    Oil Analysis

Slightly high fuel in oil sample also contributes to lower viscosity. Does not indicate anything on one sample, but watch it over time. I've been using Blackstone samples of over 20 years, and it becomes very useful information over time. With price of newer vehicles so high, it is a very...

Air Conditioner controls. Intermittant issue with dashboard controls?

1998 K1500 5.7L. Air conditioning is charged and works great for a while, then stops and starts randomly. A new strange thing I noticed, the vent fan started blowing cold AC air last night even though the AC is not turned on (just fan running). Could this indicate that my intemittant-running...

    Gonna need towing mirrors

Finally installed the Trail Ridge this summer. Have been towing boat and camper and they work great. Very little vibration. Make sure you use the added mounting bracket when installing. Electrical connector was plug-and-play, up down,side-toside all worked out of the box. 98 K1500.

Lets talk about engine oil pan.

There is no tension on the strut rods from engine to trans when not running /driving. You have to take the top bolt out first, then just loosen the lower nut and spin it out of the way or remove it. I use flex-head racheting wrench to get at the top bolt. It's a bit of a tight spot but...

    EST Electronic spark control modual

I'm sure someone on here will have more info. Here is something I used to set up my boat engine when I rebuilt it. It says Volvo because it's marine, but it is really a GM engine with Delco EST. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/volvo-est-timing-procedure.267126/ I made my own connector for...

Deleting cat=loss of low end torque?

If you have ever tried cutting wire rope with a hack saw, you can see why this might work. The customer photos posted in reviews of that site are a great help to show how they actually install. Would it be possible to get the similar result with a couple standard muffler clamps (maybe oversized...

    PCV system upgrade

It's unlikely that changing a PCV valve will suddenly make the piston rings form a perfect seal and stop all blowby in a 302,000km engine. Maybe the new PCV is doing a better job of sucking the blowby back to intake, but it does not eliminate blowby.

    Gonna need towing mirrors

It's not just a stud, you are also missing a stamped metal bracket that is meant to keep vibrations down. In mine, there was no hardware packed with the passenger side mirror, but all of the hardware was in the driver side box. Photos of the hardware are in the ad linked above. I would not...

    Gonna need towing mirrors

Look carfully inside all the packaging materials. There should be a small bag of hardware.
