Moog VS Mevotech Price VS Quality

Moog has been hit or miss for me lately. Used to to exclusively buy their stuff. Had 2 pitman arms and a set of upper ball joints fail in less than 7500 miles. Take that with a grain of salt though- a lot of our SC roads are garbage and I run down a fair amount of dirt roads/ forest trails to...

    Steering gearbox replacement/rebuild

I'm on my second Redhead (non quick ratio) on my k1500. Can't say I recommend them at all. First one was defective and outright dangerous. Pulled it immediately and Redhead gave me a huge hassle about getting a replacement. They finally sent another one that was better but has always been...

Vortec headers with RCX 4/6" lift?

I've been looking for a good, long lasting set of headers for my 96 k1500 with the vortec 305 and an RCX lift set at 4". I fabricated a 2.5" y pipe to a magnaflow muffler, single out 2.5" to dual tips out the passenger side. I am satisfied with the catback I fabricated but am constantly battling...

    Calling all single headlight owners

Gotta agree about the GM work truck grill. I've got aftermarket LEDs and they're brighter than a lot of new trucks. I kinda miss the soft glow candlelight of the OE squares though, kinda nostalgic lookin lol.

    My truck is a killer

Yep. I'm figuring every poorly done tranny rebuild ended up necessitating another rebuild not long after. That being said, she's only left me stranded once - forgot the gas gauge is only an approximation at best and ran her dry like a mile from the house lol

    My truck is a killer

Just rolled 191k miles: 4 cheap rebuilds between my grandfather and father, and when it came to me I had it rebuilt with some goodies. Maybe I'll get a few thousand more miles out of it this round lol.

    My truck is a killer

Mine eats transmissions, she's on her 5th 4l60e rebuild. Stock 5.0 power ftw!

    Lift Tire Size Conundrum...

Oh no I'm still rocking the rear RCX blocks but considering the shackle flip or custom rear leafs. Buddy of mine has the ORD kit and it definitely rides better on washed out service roads than mine.

    Lift Tire Size Conundrum...

I have the 4/6 RCX lift and have left it at 4in with 285/75/16 el cheapo MTs on procomp 252s with -6mm offset. CVs are completely flat and it rides more or less like a stock truck. Only time I've heard it rub was full lock in reverse with the back end of the truck in a ditch but even then...

Need some advice on a 1995 K1500 potential purchase

I've seen and dealt with worse, but never at that price point. I thought I got a good deal one time buying someone else's rusty 78' CJ-5 for $1k a few years back, but after the time and money spent on rust repair I easily could've bought a decent one in good shape. $6k is bonkers and would go a...
