Wonder how rare my truck is

Mine is a 1999 Chevy K2500 LS. I was under the belief that '99 was the first year of the LS instead of Cheyenne. That said, if there is one thing I've learned about these trucks in the 6 years of ownership is that GM was phasing this body style out by '98. A lot of parts etc. were being swapped...

    4X4 dash switch intermittent.

I see online that these switches are not expensive at all and I've had the dash off before and it's surprisingly easy in these trucks. I might just replace the thing. An hour of my time a less than $50 seems worth it.

    4X4 dash switch intermittent.

Thanks. Puts my mind at ease. The lights seemed to work all of the time when I first got this truck but not so much now. One other member suggested dialectic (bulb) grease to improve the contacts in the plug. I may try that. Not that the lights are that important. It's pretty difficult not to...

    4X4 dash switch intermittent.

    4X4 dash switch intermittent.

Hello guys, I have an appeal to all of your collective experience. I have an issue with my '99 K2500 (cross-over year truck. Think '98 GMT400). The 4 wheel drive switch only works when it feels like it. Often there are no lights at all. Sometimes it won't even operate the 4-wheel drive...

Am I the only one that names my trucks?

Just about every car and truck I've ever owned has had a name. A '73 Ford half ton in high school was 'Elwood', I don't recall why. My buddy's old Datsun was "Earl", his '65 International 1/2 ton was "the Intercortional Nashbinder" but that was too long so it was usually just called the "Corn...
