my thoughts as well. It’s just sitting in storage and I have the tools necessary to throw it in. It came out of a 700r4 which is basically the same transmission as the 4l60e so it should work. The stall converter that is
Right, I see what you mean. It ran great at 750 idle before but with all things considered I will probably bump it up for the first tune. Maybe while it’s in the mail I’ll throw the big stall in it. I’m still gathering things and sorting through storage right now. I’m just excited to get this...
I’m not looking to rebuild this set up. Just had it sitting and wanted to throw it and have some fun. Long term plan is LS for this hunk anyway. This motor will eventually end up in the LUV. Just trying to get advice to tame it and get a decent tune to cruise around town and have a little fun on...
I agree. I’m just heading out of town in a couple weeks and don’t have a ton of fun money right now so I’m going to give black bear a whirl.
As soon as I get back in town I will have more money and time to swap computers and tune myself. Im going to look more into HP Tuners, because like you...
I plan on spending some money long term but looking for a quick fix right now to have some fun. It was an excellent cam prior to fuel injection so I wanted to see what I could come up with on a tune and actually get some numbers on it.
Ill do some digging on these options, like I said im new...
Well I reached out to blackbear and as it turns out they do tune the black boxes. Im going to give this a whirl and see how they do. Ive heard mixed things across the board but its a cheap solution for now until I get my own tuner. Thanks guys. Ill update when I get the computer back
Im looking to get rid of this dreaded spider injection. Mainly due to the serious restriction above 3k-3500 rpms. Everything below the intake has been built and should be around 400-425hp. Previously ran block on a carbed set up before it was put in my '96.
What are my options as far as...
I didn't know they tuned these. I contacted them awhile back about the 0411 swap. I will reach out about a possible start tune.
The previous build I had this motor in had the same vacuum so I don't think there is a vacuum leak. I sprayed starter fluid all over all vacuum connections when I...
So just FYI everything below the intake has around 10k miles on it from a previous build that was carbed. The heads, block, and whole rotating assembly have been worked and ran perfect with a carb. I’m just looking to get a fuel injection set up for this truck to be able to fine tune and tinker...
I figured the tune would effect everything. I’ve heard these intakes flatline above 3500rpm. I don’t expect to run it anywhere above 5k but I want an intake that won’t restrict what the motor can do. What are some intakes that are common swaps for higher flow?
.490 is before 1.6’s. So around .523 lift total.
I should’ve put all my info on the build but it’s a lot. I have summit vortec heads that have been worked for the cam set up.
my scanner is a launch x-431 v.. I think? Can’t remember the exact model off the top of my head but it’s a quality...
Just got it put together. I know it will need a tune, which is why I have a 411 to swap it. I’m just curious if it’s worth it to run this intake and if the cam could be causing these running issues
