How would you make a TBI 454 as analog as possible?

Keep a spare module in a Faraday cage then. ;)

How would you make a TBI 454 as analog as possible?

If you have your heart set on it, it's not that hard. I'd start with an older manual trans TBI truck though. I retrofitted my 89 small block truck and it was easy. You'll need an HEI, intake and carb, return style regulator, and some planning. BTW, I'm running a carbed TBI 454 in my 69...

Wheels stick out to far for PA.

I believe you are allowed up to a 3" flare and no tire past that here in PA. It looks like you'll need a different offset to be legal.

Still undecided about a cam for my 5.7

Just my opinion, but if you are going to the trouble of swapping cams, I'd start with something like a ZZ4 takeout cam. Just watch the lift, guide clearance, and use the proper springs. The LT1 cam I used (from a 95 F body) was an improvement, but a few months later I wanted more. My current...

Need help finding a new radiator

I compared the copper/brass one from my 69 Chevelle to the aluminum one in my 89 stepside, and aside from the filler neck being shorter, it's a direct swap. This was for the big block SS-396 three core radiator.

Ebay SS shorty headers 350 TBI

Why not just go with long tube headers then while you are at it. There's always something better. All these $100 Chinese ebay shorty headers are restrictive. A quick look up into the collector will show you that your Y pipe won't be the problem. They are just a convenient, cheap, emission...

Ebay SS shorty headers 350 TBI

Mine are ebay stainless. They are the ones with the stock type ball flange that bolts right up to the factory Y pipe. Keep in mind that some of the ebay headers require collector adapters to be welded into your exhaust.

Ebay SS shorty headers 350 TBI

I have had the stainless ones on the ZZ4 in my truck for a few years now with no problems. They still look good!

    fast taurus fan question

You can use the plugged bung in the water jacket on the passenger head or get a thermostat housing that has a bung for a sensor and add one there. It'll reflect the temp more accurately.

Installing new radiator. what else should i change?

I looked at the one from my 69 Chevelle, and it's a drop-in fit in these trucks. It's copper/brass, and the only difference is the filler neck is shorter. It's a 3 core big block radiator. I changed out everything with coolant in it except for the overflow bottle. Radiator, heater core...

Coolant reservoir empty but radiator is full?

I replaced my heater core, radiator, radiator hoses, cap, heater hoses, thermostat, and overflow hose. I did it when I did the engine swap just to make everything fresh. The only thing I didn't replace was the overflow tank. I filled it to the cold line, and it stays there, maybe drops a...

Replacing Valve Covers...are these any good?

I know you said you wanted to keep it stock, but for a few bucks more, you can get some aluminum ones and paint them to match. I got these from ebay for about 80 bucks.

The Official Way to Improve Gas Mileage and Use Less Gas Thread

A vacuum gauge is a great way to improve mileage. It'll teach you to control your right foot. It's amazing how a little throttle movement has a big impact on mileage. Keep the needle as high as possible, and your mileage will go up. Back in the 70's they came factory installed in some cars...
