1999 C/K1500 oddities and observations

The majority of the 99’s I’ve seen besides ours has the vinyl CHEVROLET letters on the tailgates. He is still loving the truck!

My son’s first truck - ‘99 K1500 Z71

I cleaned up everything and painted the intake basedingy alternator and power steering brackets black. It ended up looking pretty good.

They are the factory tailpipes, I just cleaned them up, painted them, and reused them.

Taillights are out

Does anyone have a picture of where the ground is on the rear? My taillights in my ‘91 started having the same issue last night, but I couldn’t see a ground wire at the rear with my flashlight (I didn’t really know where to look). I’m going to try to fix it this evening, but it will it will be...

My youngest daughter and I put a few “miles” on some of those carburetors today. I showed her exactly why the Q-jet on my ‘72 C-10 goes Woooooooo!! when you floor it! :)

No, it’s perfect. I did look it over closely! It’s got a few spots where the raw aluminum has been handled, but that’s going to happen as soon as it’s only the engine and running anyway. IDK, if you’ve ever been in one of Summit’s retail locations, but they have thousands of parts on display...

I finally found me another GMT400!

I went to Summit Racing today get some stuff for another project, and while perusing the clearance items, I stumbled upon a new display Edelbrock Performer TBI intake on clearance for $220! This intake retails for $494.95 from Summit now. It was a no brainer to grab it for that price!

Interior swap

If you look at the first picture below, you can see the power ‘91 door. In the second picture you can see the ‘97 door with the newer style door handle and manual regulator. What I ended doing was swapping out the inner door panel and handle and lock rod out of the ‘91 door and then replaced the...

I can tell you first hand that they will fit. I put a ‘97 door on my ‘91, but I did swap the inner black steel panel and the interior door handle and door lock rods out of my ‘91 door to the ‘97 door. I ran around in the truck for a few weeks with ‘97 “guts” still in the door before I swapped...
