Vacuumed to damn near 30 and it held for a day or two. Doesn't really matter though because the compressor won't come on without a jump
Oh also - unrelated but let me tell you this "reman" ac delco compressor is pretty noisy. I am almost positive I received a dud and it needs to go back.
Sorry I should have been more clear. I can engage the clutch no problem with a wire from battery. I don't have a high pressure switch on the compressor it seems. I don't see any wire that would go to one. I tried jumping the low pressure switch on the dryer and that didn't work to engage...
So I installed my reman AC Delco compressor and tried everything I could to get the clutch wire on the truck to give the compressor 12V. At no point will it do that. I even put 2 cans into the system...clutch won't engage. AC light on controller just flashes. What a headache. Is there a way...
Can anyone link me to a replacement dash switch for a 92? I suppose even if it is "working" by clicking the relays and changing the screen from LO MED HI it could still not be good enough to make the cut.
Mine is 1992. If its the dash switch would I still be able to hear the relays clicking? I can hear it click when I push medium and click when I push down to low. But the air will only blow on high. If there a way to replace that little rocker without replacing that whole digital HVAC display?
All, just put a blower motor resistor in there to fix my issue where my fan only works on High (i only have 3 speeds on and a digital dash). I checked the three relays on the blower motor housing and swapped them one by one with a known good relay and the same. I cannot get low and medium to...
My HVAC won't blow from the face outlets. Only floor or windshield. I have that digital HVAC with the recirc button. If I tell it blow from the face outlets it will close them off and you can hear the blower motor working hard without anywhere for the air to go. When you put it to floor or...
Well I don't know if the switch works or not because it leaks around the perimeter. I think step one is evacuate the system, replace that o-ring if the switch doesn't break coming out, and then check for leaks. I would much rather run a metal slug and risk the system lol. I will try and...
I do have a recirc button and noticed some replacement compressors have that switch port plugged off. If I understand you guys I can buy a replacement 2 wire switch and swap it in just to fix the leak. Wire it in to low pressure switch or I can just use the replacement switch as a plug and...
I just realized that you said that is a switch. It did not have any wires attached to it. In my picture I see a loose looking connector with 2 wires going to it - does that look like the right connectors? I know it is leaking from around the switch as I checked but could also be leaking...
Thanks folks. Well I guess I am going to bite the bullet and get a reman pump and a new dryer. Where is the orifice tube on these trucks - I should change that too. Thanks again.
I found a leak on my compressor. This port off the back side of the compressor itself is slowly hissing. The compressor works and keeps the interior cool but that port leaks down to the point where the clutch won't lock anymore. Can I reseal what is there? It looks like a snap ring holding...
I do see what you mean. I was hoping to leave it be and do the job real quick on the truck but it may be to my benefit to have the box on the bench where I can clean it real well and respray it afterward.
