Weird.... driving down the road, engine running like a top. POP, STUTTER, engine dies. Throttle is flat on the floor.

No start. Kind of tries to start but no go. Calling a tow truck.

Kind of acts like timing is way off. 1990 5.7 pretty much bone stock.

Any ideas? Yes I know not a lot of info.

Thanks!!!

Id start with seeing if injectors are pulsing while cranking or put some fuel in throttle body to see if it'll run quickest way to check if its fuel or spark.

But sounds fuel related by little bit of info

Injectors pulse fuel but no spark. Must be ignition module .

Don't know why this account comes up on my phone. I'm kenh on my good account. Thought this one was deleted..... asked the mods to do that.

Last repair was cylinder heads about 3 weeks ago. Run like a top since.

Did you by chance install a parts store ICM while troubleshooting something else in the past?

Well.... Pulled off the Distributor cap and removed the ignition module. The plug for the trigger was coated in hard substance. I assume it used to be grease at one time. The same for under the module, except there was very little of a heat sink grease I would look for. I got about 2 volts (VOM set on AC) when cranking the engine out of the trigger.

Confirmed: injectors are supplying fuel but no spark

Pulled the ignition module off and took it to my friendly Advance Auto store. They tested it and it failed every test. It appeared that this is an original module. At least it was an AC Delco.

I purchased a BWD brand. It has a limited lifetime warranty. They would have to order the AC Delco and it would be Tuesday before it gets here. I would be out a vehicle if I waited. Our car gets driven by my wife and we have way different work schedules so that was a choice I made. We'll see if it was a poor choice or not.....

BWD, was a good name. No clue if it went sideways over the years like some of the others but I'm guessing I would have made the same call.
