Not carrying full coverage is freckin fantastic. And no payment on top of it is freckin sweet... definitely no argument there. I'm shocked that your mileage is the same... I get 11mpg no matter what I do. Hopefully the 5.3 swap solves that problem.

I carry full coverage but im 27 and clean record. My tahoe would get 12/17,08 11.5/17,05 12/19 all 5.3s and all 3.73s. I will never go back to a payment. I miss the tahoe for the room but thats it. I dont race, pull a trailer, work out of my truck.

Just sold 2009 F250 diesel for a 1996 K1500 with 63k miles. I have two at the house 1 1993 and this 1996. I'll never buy anything over a 1998 again. They are rare but you can still find them with low miles.

How was the 2009 Powerstroke by the way?

And when people say they will never buy anything newer than a 1998...there will be a time where you will have to, for whatever reason.

I enjoyed that powerstroke alot. It would pull anything. I had a HS tuner with 5 turbo back exhaust, but $4 fuel and $100 oil changes make me decide to go gas again. Grew up on 88-98 trucks and still love 'em. I almost traded for a 1990 k1500 z71 with only 900 miles for $25K. It wasnt practical to do that since it is a DD.
