This thread's a joke anyway, my speedo was off by 3mph in stock form and only .1% of the people here are going to tune their speedo to perfection. For me, that made about 3/4 mpg difference. All that time I thought I was pulling 16mpg was closer to 15. Now I get 13-14 empty and 7-10 loaded. This has been observed time and time again as I calculate mpg after every tank. I should start writing it down.

Over the Christmas Weekend- I got 16.5 MPG for the 300 Mile highway trip cruising at 72-74 MPH
Then got 12.5 on the way back because of a nice strong wind I was driving into and cross wind at times.

My calculations are about 14.5 mpg, but my speedo is a little off- so it's probably more like 13.5 or 13.9 - same as my avalanche gets so I am ok with that. Just seems to go quicker cause this has a smaller tank. but it's more fun to drive :)

Im new to these trucks but why would your speedo being off affect the odometer/Mileage?

If you have larger than stock tires, your speedo would read low, and by the same token your odometer would rack up miles more slowly than on stock size tires.

To be reading better mileage though, he would need smaller than stock tires.

Seriously, did anyone buying one of these trucks actually expect good fuel mileage? if so, the Honda Civic lineup is over to the left...

I didn't, but then again the poll was simply asking what mileage do you get?

I'm afraid to calculate the mileage, especially with cold weather and city driving. My guess? maybe 12 City, possibly 18 highway. And that's not much better than my old 1971 GMC 1500 with the 350 4 bbl, and 3 spd auto tranny. Not much progress over 40 plus years.
