It's still got a bowtie on the hood! :cool: I would rather drive a 2 door Cavi with 150,000k on it for like $800 than pay like $1200 for a civic or an accord with 300,000k on it. Cavi's are the greatest Pieces of crap ever! They're cheap on fuel & insurance (which means you can afford more parts for the truck) :waytogo: you can pick a mint one up with 100k on it for $1000, drive the absolute piss out of it until it blows up at 300k while putting $50 a paycheck aside (and if it hasn't blown up, just put it out of it's misery and crush it) Use the money you put aside + $200 from the scrap yard to go buy another one for $1000 and repeat lol. By the time you're on your 3rd Cavi, you have a built truck & a fuel efficient DD.. lol, seems like im selling myself on this idea more & more every second :hmm:
Ok when you put ot that way it seems ok lol
You know its funny how the internet is full of people getting 20 mpg with their 4x4 V8's and yet I've never met anyone doing better than 15...

1998 GMC C1500 ECSB - 248000 - 350 - 4L60E - 2/4 drop - 3.42 G80 - 20+ MPG{Hwy/Mtn}

It's in a vortec 350 in a c1500 with 3:42s

With an economical driver and properly running engine, that's no far stretch. He has a better power to weight ratio and the same gearing with a more efficient fueling system.

On the highway I generally see 16-17 out of the 6.0. I have gotten as good as 18.5, and as bad as 8.5.

It doesn't seem to matter if I am towing 12,000# or an empty trailer, I usually get 9-10 towing.

I drive 3.5 hours every couple of weeks one way, doing about 110 km/hr the whole time one way trip distance is like 300ish km depends on the route I take, mines a stock 350 TBI in a ecsb 4x4 and by the time I get there I only use a little more than 1/4 tank usually, depends if I'm passing and stuff, going to be adding a throttle body spacer in the next week or so, my trip meter quit so I stopped counting how long my tank lasts

Best I've gotten was 13.5 in my 6.0l.

9-10 towing is right where I am too.

I would attribute my mileage to having a lighter pickup, a manual trans, and 3.42 gears.
