My '96 K1500. 21 I could get on the highway, 18+ day to day. Absolute worst ever was 15.3, around 3/4 of a tank that was burned driving back and forth in town in stop and go traffic, fully loaded with firewood each trip.

Well tuned up on a regular basis and 3.42s were the main factors, but you need to drive like grandpa...

Moved from a suburb in MN to a suburb in IL, full of red lights and a ton of beige car traffic mileage plummeted from 15-16.5 to 10.5-11

Ive only checked this truck 3 times since i got it a month ago or so.. and they went like this. 7.5mpg first tank. 9 something on the second tank. And now 13.5 on this last one... I thik the fact that it only had 10k miles on it since 2003 might be a factor and i had a heavy foot when i first bought it... lol its going up slowly but surely!

mine display bounces between 15.6 and 15.7, i want to reset it and see if i can average 16

My 3 month average is 12.15. but that is majority 1-2 mile trips and cold temps, if I was all highway or like 6 mile trips into town and back I should be 16 and 13.5 respectively
