I was thinking about my powerband and too me it seems very narrow I have good low end and decent mid. Seems like my power don't get real good until 3000 and dies off around 4500 I know the high end is intake manifold but really wish I could widen the powerband a little more

You don't really need to be revving that engine above 4500. It's a truck engine and designed to make power down low. You aren't feeling much of a power band since it is trying to overcome 285s and 3.42 gears.

I ve contemplated gears but 3.73 ain't much change and worried about 4.10s killing my mpg or gpm (gallons per mile)

I'm having zero issues with the 285/75/16 and 3.73 combo. Great power even when towing.

Keep in mind I have a manual transmission though.

Anyone with 4.10s have 4.10s with 285s know how bad it hurts my gas mileage.

I would love to have 3.73s and a 5speed but not sure 3.73s would be enough of a difference to invest time and money
