In 2014 I bought mine for a mere $200.00 in labor trade. I was quickly offered $900.00 which I turned down. The tag office wanted to charged me taxes on their value of nearly 3K and I told them NO, truck is at that time 24 years old and did not qualify for state declared tax value. I don't mind the value increasing on my good old work truck but still do not have any intentions of selling it. And the same with my 77 Impala.

I agree with some else's post about what I do pay for gasoline in any given month is way less than any new car payment!

I love these trucks, they are plentiful and parts are cheap (unless you're looking for a NV4500 then it's not).

I've bought two trucks at $500, one at $400, another one back for $300, my 98 was $2,400 then needed another $800 in stuff to pass smog, and another truck for $500. All the trucks in my sig.

I just like the fact that you can buy one super cheap, and kind of build a truck up that would be a good beater for a few seasons. Like the truck doesn't have to be perfect with all the dents and stuff, it's just a cheap truck and I would never expect to resell said truck for a lot of money.

Now if the truck is some rare configuration (like a K1500 Z71 6.5; CCSB K2500; CCSB dually K3500; 454SS; K3500 CCLB 454/5spd; etc) I could see it bringing in significantly more money than your run of the mill K1500 ECSB with a 350 and a 4L60e.

Add to that, these trucks are highly modifiable and you can get parts for almost everything. Race parts, offroad parts, good daily parts, it goes on.

Here in AZ I think the only reason gmt400's are sought after is because they are cheap and easy to fix. I have a 98 Yukon that my parents have owned since new and I have owned for 3 years now. I will be lucky to sell it for $3,000 and it is in pristine condition with 165k miles.

Bring it to Canada and you'd probably get 10-15,000 if not more lol

@gstubbz, don't forget rare combos of ECSB 2500's and ECLB 1500's. ;) I find the ECSB 2500's pretty unique, but I love the CCSB 2500's even more. :D

This generation of truck would be any truck I would ever buy, even if they are $3k or even $5k. Something about this generation of truck really appeals to me. Not a huge fan of the GMT800s, squarebody's are rough to drive, but the GMT400 were a perfect combo of each of the GMT800 and squarebody. All the kids at my school buy squarebodys and older trucks, I am the only who really wants GMT400's, lol.

Way too much for that, it's only 2WD, lights are faded, interior is stained... So yeah, I guess our trucks are starting to add value.

Only thing great about that truck is how clean it is.

yeah. . . .I get the miles are really low, but if all the soft parts are as grimy as the headlights and the interior it would turn into a money pit real quick. for 54,*** miles it looks rather filthy. Looks like a repaint as well.

here in texas they only fetch a penny if its ls swapped and possibly bagged. but it has to be good work. i have seen ALOT of hackjobs. makes me sad. stock down here with no rust they are 1500-3500, but people still try to get 8500. i feel like they love the truck too much and dont really wanna sell it.
