ya the 95 and prior ecms use chips. 96-up use flash memory so if you are TBI you need to get a chip. People associate the word "chip" with pre fab Jet chips etc.

Carbs just cant compare to the newer EFI in any way other than price. When you get into the newer lsx type stuff. coil on plug etc. The EFI runs all over the carb in all aspects. I think carbs are better compared to old mid 80s efi which is prehistoric.

I would take a carb over TBI anyday, but id rather have Vortec then Carb.
