Hello, I have put together a build list for my 1993 c2500 with a TBI 454. I figure the abysmal compression ratio could be boosted to make more power and improve economy. The list includes: less wimpy cam, hydraulic roller lifters, Edelbrock high compression heads, Edelbrock TBI intake, injector spacer, shift kit, long tube headers, 3 inch H-pipe exhaust, and a Jet 6pack to help run it all. Can a chipped TBI 454 take the extra compression (~8.5:1) and the new cam reliably?

Your engine has 8.5CR now or will have 8.5Cr after all the mods?

I have swapped a couple TBI 454s to the TBI 366/427 heads. Smaller valves but more compression and more flow. The 366/427 do not use peanut ports. I feel like GM got the head choice backwards between a 366 and 454.
