As I research for info on other CCSB's out there, I have found that there isn't much as they are pretty rare rigs. I figured I would start a thread to get more info out on these trucks.
I purchased the truck for $8200 from a dealer with 122xxx miles on it. The exterior is pretty clean and the interior is VERY clean, just some wear on the drivers seat. It has a 454 with the 4L80E auto, and as far as I know, is all stock. I came across this truck in my search for a tow rig for my Toyota Landcruiser. I really wanted something I could pay cash for, but definitely drove some trucks that I would have to finance a portion of if I pulled the trigger. The appeal of a modern diesel was strong, but when I put the numbers to it, it just didn't make sense. From my research, all models of newer diesels (2000+) had some issue that was quite expensive to take care of, not to mention the price of a used diesel pickup is ridiculous with all the new emission laden trucks that are coming out now days. I wasn't thrilled about the 454 in this truck, but at the end of the day it had the interior that I would want if I had an OBS and it was a 2500 which gave me a bit more towing capacity over a 1500, so I threw down a pile of cash and it was mine. This will be the 4th OBS truck in our family; dad had a '95 GMC 1500 which I drove for a year or so after he upgraded to a Tundra; my middle brother has a '97 1500 which is one of the cleanest and best looking OBS trucks I've seen in person; and my youngest brother just sold his 80xxx mile '98 which was another super clean OBS truck.
