I have found my next mod and that would be to put a 10 inch +/- wide rim on the rear of my truck! Something like this...

So I have been scouring C-list and came across this supposedly 454ss 14 bolt rear, it appears it had been on a bagged truck and the owner is asking $400 for it.

Assuming it is a true 454ss 14 bolt rear and it is in good working order is it worth $400? I was thinking of offering $250 and see where it goes from there. Even if I buy this it would have to be shortened along with the axles to fit the wider rims out back which will also be costly.

Brought the beast home this afternoon, check out the shoddy welding for the links brackets. I can't believe this thing didn't fall apart going down the road! There's also a pic of the 454ss truck the rear came out of, the owner bought a rear frame section and welded it to the front half. It didn't look to me as if it was very sturdy compared to others I've seen on the majority of the builds on other forums.

I confirmed that it is a true SS rear and started cleaning up and cutting off the bag and link brackets.
