if your going to get a flowmaster 40 then just get the knockoff thrush welded as its exactly the same for $30 less. if you want to spend the extra money tho get the spintech as its designed to flow better and still has a similar chambered sound. i recommend going with duel 2.25" in and a single 3" out to give it a deeper tone that the 3" pipe gives. now if your running tips dont go with anything smaller them 3.5"D 18" long.

stupid question but does cats/ no cats and y pipes/ other junk make it sound any different than just stock cats and piping witha muffler?

long tubes will make it louder and flow a lot better. cat's help muffle some sound and pop. its best to just keep them to stay legal.

Ok so the muffler above ^ has a 13" case and is 19" overall. I measured the stock muffler to be 21". What do I need to do to make it fit properly?

If you're not going to weld it get clamps and a couple extensions from an auto parts store and cut them to size it's easy.

Welding is best but if you don't have access to a welder use clamps and extentions. Do not use flexable exhaust tubing

didn't plan on it. I don't have access and i don't want to pay a shop to do it. I wanted to do it myself.
