No, it wasn't locking at all before, and dropping out of gear into third.

Now it shifts 1-2-3-4-lockup and stays there until the brake switch flakes out and unlocks it. Then it relocks, rinse repeat apparently.

So, basically, I had, and still have multiple issues

Well, i have all four gears, but lockup is somewhat flaky. Basically, it doesn't. You can see on the scanner the brake switch going from open to closed, when I'm not touching the brakes lol.

Running down the road it's fine, it get's up to speed well and can run through traffic fine. It still has a misfire/surge, it's not terribly noticeable. I haven't stabbed it from a stop, I suspect that hasn't changed, since I haven't changed any parts yet lol.

It's still all over the road, kinda pissing me off with all the wandering. I may wind up with a new steering box soon.

Have you checked it out with a code reader or vaccume gauge?
