My old '94 C2500LD with my Harley on the trailer, being towed by a Dodge on a tow bar thanks to blowing the 4L60E at 158K miles.

Hey; it happens...guy really bailed me out as I still had 500 miles to go on that trip, and we pulled it the whole way like that.

They had a junk front bumper handy at the shop and drilled it for the tow bar mounts; before they got there I pulled my grille and painted diesel bumper - ready to throw the tow bar bumper on:
