They light up amber. I have smoked lenses and the incandescent and regular led bulbs were hardly visible during the day. The factory inserts are amazing.

A buddy of mine gave me a truck overhead console and a SUV overhead. I ended up making one good console using the truck one but used the lights, wiring and homelink out if the SUV. Also added LEDs to the lights. Only problem was it was for a brown interior, I used a coat of duplicolor black spray dye then 6 coats of medium blue, it's damn near a match!!!
