Extra parts in the model box is always a good thing LOL!

Wow! That instantly took me back! I was incredibly serious about models before they became a thing at car shows. But I that's a whole other thread.

I’ve had a few to drink so maybe I’m overlooking it, but “model box”???

If you've never been into building plastic car models, it wouldn't make sense to you. Some of them had "extra" parts to customize your model (wheels, etc....). If you had say, 30-45 models, you had a parts box full of stuff. Then you grow up (sorta) and do the same with real cars and trucks.

I had a bed room full of plastic models that I built when I was a kid. I remember building a 1970 Dodge Challenger in the early 1970s. In about 1979, I bought the real thing. A 1973 Challenger with a 340, hugh cam, Holly 650 and a big Wynn high rise. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have never sold that car. It was a 13 second car in the quarter mile. Fast for its day. I had it well over 140 MPH more time than I can count.

I have a ss 454 model kit. I believes it's by AMT and it was a new old stock deal. I haven't gotten around to putting it together. I've been watching videos to make sure I paint it correctly. It has a ton of extra bits like you mentioned.

Right on man. Have you heard of the shop?

Yup, they were three miles west of me. I had them fix the sagging door on my Suburban. They went out of business a couple years ago, but there's still a shop there doing pretty much the same stuff with about half as much business, so it might have just been a change in owner.

The paint job looks really familiar, and I'm pretty sure I've seen that truck before. I did a little google searching and according to Angie's List, Bea Duke owned the shop in 2012 and there's a complaint they weren't getting work out the door.

Just read thru this whole post @70stroker ! Good to see ya back! I remember reading about your C10 back in the day, maybe 10 years ago or so? On the 67-72 Chevy board and then the 4wd chassis swap.
