Upper and lower control arm bushings make a big difference. Rubber is going to be a smoother ride, but they really do suck and get crappy within a few thousand miles.

Yeah I've been thinking all new bushings throughout will make a big difference because I'm sure they've never been changed.

For the funds available bushings are the best bet.

Ive replaced springs/shocks on a car for a rough ride. I measured the height and compared it to the factory spec, It was riding 1 inch lower than recommend. My only regret, was that I didnt replace the rubber insulator on top of the spring. Road noise translated badly.
