96 z71 sub box

Does anyone make or sell a subwoofer box that will fit under the back seat of my 96 z71 ext cab short bed? Thinking 1 or 2 8s would be good in a ported box or maybe 1 10 or 12 in a ported box. Any help is greatly appreciated

Not enough volume under the seat to make a ported box feasible, at least not without ditching the tool box on the passenger's side.

Keep in mind that the depth constraint is a real one, requiring a driver with a somewhat shallow basket and magnet. I have a rotomolded MTX box with an ( IIRC ) Alpine Type E 10" , it barely fit.

When shopping for a subwoofer, you will need to make sure it will fit in the box, and work in a fairly small airspace. Sealed box with a 10" subwoofer is possible, a 12 can work, in a larger box, but it will be more expensive. ( shallow mount driver )

Whoops, that link is for a 'loaded' sub box, there are plenty of unloaded boxes available as well, just search out 88-98 ck truck sub box on eBay.

If you can swallow your wallet and bite the bullet.. JL audio makes a stealthbox with either one or two 10s. In my last rig, I had the dual setup. I was able to score a single 10 box off of a Craigslist ad. I've had the mtx boxes and seen some of the mass produced boxes--the JL stealthbox is (in my opinion) the best option short of molding your own or paying a custom sub shop to make/mold one.

I built my own box, wasn't terribly difficult. Looks good, and sounds awesome. I tried porting it but resorted to a sealed box since it sounded much better. I used a shallow 10" Pioneer sub.

Sooooo many places make them now..... there is not enough room for an effective ported box under the rear seat.... besides that Google is your friend... not a hard search "1996 k1500 subwo over box" is all I typed I and came up with this list....
