Im using the Fitech ultimate LS harness so that shouldn't be an issue. Biggest part will be getting the gauges all working

Already planned on dropping it off monday at the shop to have the y pipe finished for the exhaust so I will be in a backup car anyways. I've got 5 guys helping me all weekend after the 4th. Biggest thing is anything that comes out of the truck cant be cut or discarded as I am dropping the TBI into a buddies woodhauler truck that threw a rod and hes looking for a cheap running motor.
Ok cool. I saw the price on that Harness. It's pricey but u said you got a good deal on the LS motor and trans so it should even out. What type of muffler are you looking to put and/or cats?

Im going to use my existing dynomax 3" catback. I am going to use a highflow single cat so it will be pretty much a Y pipe setup they are making

Ah cool! I got a one up from you, 318. They are nice mowers, glad you are putting a new motor in it. These mowers can last a long time. :waytogo:

I don't have a tach on mine from factory . But I have ran a wire, for the future, from LS harness. I also have wires ran from LS harness to inside the cab for with the speedo, fuel, oil pressure, and voltage gauges. All are pretty much accurate. Here is a pic of them I just took....

On your ignition coil there are 4 wires, 2- pink and 2- white. One white wire goes to the distributor and the other white wire is the tach signal wire.

But dont you have to worry about the signal thats being pushed to the tach? I thought I read that its a different pulse?

It's possible that when you have the LS ecu tuned, the tuner will adjust it

I don't know if it's the same for all ECUs but I helped with an LS swap into a vehicle and we used the incorrect speedo signal. We tapped into the wire between the transmission and the ECU. The tach pulled the signal voltage low enough that the ECU did not know vehicle speed and the transmission stopped shifting. After the fact we found out that the ECU (from Camaro) had a speedo output which we needed to use. After switching wires around everything worked great. Just an FYI while you're doing the wiring. That's one that will leave you driving with random shifts if any at all.

Also in my case, I changed to a 3 wire Camaro temp sensor after I received the ECU back from the tuner. My temp gauge is like 40 degrees off. But it was way easier to wire. If I would've told him I was using the Camaro sensor he would've adjusted then. Also I told him that I would be running Camaro SS 20's and he put that in the tune so my speedo is pretty accurate
