Current plans: 2" drop shackle, 15x7 U.S. Wheel Stealth Blade, LT235/75r15 Cooper S/T in the rear and Cooper H/T in the front, chrome smoothie bumper (that plastic strips bugs me), 3.73's with truetrac eventually. Might have to build me a headrack too...

So I picked up a few OEM wheels this week and I've been cleaning them. Didn't like the way they looked so I started stripping the clear coat (Aircraft Stripper/0 degree tip on the pressure washer) + Several hours I got two wheels stripped and one polished. Debating Plasticoat or paint + clear in the spokes. Also sanded the centers and shot them with mat black and clear coat. http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab44/Ruger_556/0828131250_zpsfdeb2f6c.jpg?t=1377745666 Here's polished up with the fresh paint on the centers http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab44/Ruger_556/0828131953_zpsc9045825.jpg?t=1377745674 Here's what I started with http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab44/Ruger_556/0827132043b_zpsb34d5701.jpg?t=1377745845

So it turns out that two days isn't enough cure time before clear coating  Time to strip and start over again

The second wheel turned out like this

I'm just going to strip them both and start over :bawl: This time I'm using PlatiKote OEM Match Lacquer Primer/Paint/Clear.

F__k dealerships! Pulled the drain plug out and...

That's supposed to be a 1/2-20 but it looks like a M12 - 1.75 with the threads all stuck to the magnet. :nono: Best I can figure the dealer tapped the drain pan and then over tightened the drain plug. Thank God the threads in the drain pan are okay. The only other thing I can think is they threaded the M12 in and it threaded itself but stripped in the process.
