So i took my turbo manifold off to do some machining to it and fix a few exhaust leaks.
Well i ended up checking the slack in the turbo and im going to send it in to get rebuilt.
rough estimate is 350,000 miles on the S475 now on a LQ4 and LM7. So i got my moneys worth out of it for sure.

I'd say she owes you nothing haha

$250 and she will be ready to go again.
Even talked to the guy about a turbo for my 2500hd. We are thinking a billet 366/83
Should be plenty for towing and turbine is big enough to keep back pressure down.
It sits about 2500 rpms @ 70mph. So boost should be instant with that little compressor wheel.

That'll be awesome, having boost come in down low is a good feeling. How much do you think you'll run?

On my old setup it would sit at 6psi (wastegate spring) at 2000 (70mph) no problem towing. But it would accelerate pretty decent so it didnt sit there long unless it was a heavy load.

I can second this number. 4psi is decent at altitude, but 6 is much better without. Back in MI this 1500 takes **** from nobody.

Gonna add your build to this thread? I look forward to it lol
I can. It's not gonna be anything crazy.
Just stock truck with pump, injectors, valve springs, and turbo.

I've ran 10psi at 2000 towing but it didn't stay there long. It would accelerate and then you would be back in vacuum
5-6psi is a sweet spot and engine will last forever if tuned right and good fuel.
I've got 500,000+ miles on the 6.0 now that I was beating on for years. It had nitrous, water/meth, and boost all at the same time for awhile.
Don't get greedy with timing and let the boost do the work for you.

6psi at sea level was fun.

Actually it ran faster at the track with just 6psi than it did with a 150 shot N/A.
